Partner

As a Partner at VOX Global, James leads the Behavioral Insights Practice. Building on two decades of experience in public affairs and politics, he develops the communications strategy to build and protect reputations, and coordinates advocacy campaigns for global brands and organizations. Through data-driven consumer insights and lessons from behavioral science, his campaigns move audiences from awareness to action. He leads a team that helps clients tell their stories across digital, social and traditional media channels.

He directly supports CEOs and other members of the C-Suite, helping to build their executive visibility, advance their engagement with key stakeholders and support their communications around M&A and other investor communications. He conducts trainings related to message development, crisis communications, media relations and storytelling.

Across multiple industries — tech, energy, education, financial services, commercial real estate and healthcare — James helps clients navigate the most challenging situations that could impact their brand’s reputation. As co-lead of VOX’s Tech Practice, he has especially played a role in leading communications and issues management for emerging technology initiatives. He has helped shape the media and policy landscape around ethical AI, tech and antitrust issues, 5G deployment, supercomputing acceleration, data privacy and more.

In addition to his other roles in the firm, he supports the firm’s operations, serving on the Executive Management Committee and leading the Texas team.

James has a Master’s in Behavioral Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication from Texas A&M University – College Station where he currently serves on the Department of Communication’s Alumni Advisory Board.
