Corey’s skills and experiences at the intersection of public policy, DEI and crisis communications uniquely position him as a trusted counselor in a complex and dynamic communications environment. Driven by the principles of servant leadership, he develops and drives successful integrated strategic communications in reputation management, crisis response, grassroots public policy campaigns, employee engagement and DEI initiatives.
Prior to joining VOX, Corey served as a director and spokesperson with The White House Office of Communications providing media counsel and coordination for President Barack Obama and Senior Administration Officials. Additional public service includes roles as a communications advisor for three presidential campaigns, multiple congressional campaigns and time on Capitol Hill supporting Alabama’s 7th Congressional District, frequently known as the soul of the Civil Rights Movement.
Corey began his communications career with the 3rd United States Infantry (The Old Guard), the U.S. Army Ceremonial Honor Guard for the President of the United States which conducts funerals and guards the Tomb of the Unknown in Arlington National Cemetery.
Corey is a graduate of the University of Alabama earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and Political Communications. He also holds a certification in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from Cornell University and received journalism, broadcast and public relations training from the Defense Information School for the U.S. Department of Defense.
