Emily Sandberg brings a decade of strategic communications experience to her role at VOX Global, where she serves as a senior counselor to clients in the education, nonprofit and financial services industries.
A member of VOX’s behavioral insights practice group, Emily draws on data and audience insights to architect and execute integrated communications campaigns that meet clients’ goals – whether influencing a legislative or regulatory outcome, changing public perception of an issue or managing reputation. She has led award-winning executive communication programs for the C-Suite leaders of Fortune 10 companies and the nation’s leading foundations and nonprofit organizations.
Based out of VOX’s Indianapolis office, Emily has managed state advocacy campaigns that have improved the quality of life and economic mobility of all Hoosiers. She has partnered with clients to build, manage and equip coalitions to maximize the effectiveness of their communication, mobilize grassroots and grasstops supporters, influence policymakers via earned and social media and more. Emily’s advocacy work has contributed to the passage of Indiana’s hate crimes law and the ongoing expansion of the state’s pre-kindergarten program for children from low-income households.
Emily has received a Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Diamond Award for excellence in external relations in the East Central District, representing the Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia chapters. She has also been honored with a Best in Show and several Pinnacle Awards from the PRSA Hoosier Chapter. In 2020, Emily received the PRSA Hoosier Chapter’s outstanding young professional award, which recognizes the top practitioner under 30 in Indiana.
Out of the office, you can find Emily volunteering for Brightlane Learning, a nonprofit that tutors K-12 students experiencing homelessness, tackling a home improvement project or binging the latest prestige TV show.
Emily received a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing from DePauw University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and was a member of the Media Fellows Program of Distinction.
